Scout About first started broadcasting about 12 years ago, with Dublin City FM under the stations old name “Anna Livia”, who broadcast from Grafton Street, the programme was started by Pat Hollingsworth and presented by Scouts from the 66th Clontarf Group, later the team were joined by some Girl Guides. The show ran for a number of years and some of its presenters went on to work on National Radio.

The current Scout About show was once again started by Pat Hollingsworth, helped by Joe Lawlor former Chief Scout, about 7 years ago; once again the presenters came from the 66th Clontarf Group, after the first show Robbie Daly was asked to take over the show as Producer.

Due to studies and other commitments presenters left. Robbie started running training course’s in Broadcasting, with Dublin City FM, from which a number of Scouts joined the Scout About programme.

Robbie was joined by many Scouters, including Paul Gilbert who for many years was responsible for the technical side of the show, Ruth Mills & Anne Kelly were Presenters on the show. James Prendiville, a Venturer joined Scout About two years ago as a Presenter and is now producing some of the Shows.

Robbie was asked by Christy McCann Camp Chief to Head up a Radio Station for Jamboree 2008 in Punchestown, Robbie asked Denzil Lacey from Dublin City FM and David Kelleher from Student Talk Radio Show to join him as Assistant Station Managers.

This Radio Station was called 95.9 Jam FM, broadcasting from 8.00am until 11.00pm every day of the Jamboree (link to Jam FM page)
