SCOUTING IRELAND BREACHES THE 40,000 MEMBERSHIP THRESHOLD

The Chief Scout Michael John Shinnick is delighted to announce that the Associations membership has exceeded 40,000 members for the first time in the Association’s history... As of this month the Association has 32,015 Youth Members and 8,031 Adult Members which comprises a total of 40,046 members. The Chief Scout further stated that “This is a unique milestone in the history of Scouting Ireland and augurs well for the future development and expansion of the Association in line with the Association’s Strategy, and the introduction of the new One Scout Programme and Programme Books this year will further consolidate and enhance the Associations reputation as a pre-eminent Youth Organisation in Ireland”

World Jamboree Quest Advert

Scouting Ireland has been approached by the 22nd World Scout
Jamboree, Sweden 2011 Programme Department to head up a section of
the Modular Activities Department....

Christy McCann will lead this Programme element. The section is called "Quest" and will cater primarily for the Physical, Social and Intellectual parts of the Jamboree Programme.

Quest's plan is to create 5 'Worlds' within its perimeter such as
Challenge, Krypton, Viking, Celebration and Cave.

Quest are seeking applicants who may wish to get involved in the
designing, building and testing of these activities with a view to attending
the World Jamboree as a "Quest" staff central block team member.
Scouters & Scouts aged 18 and over who wish to apply should consider
the skills required to "design and build" with a creative and imaginative
approach to work as a team member so as to represent Scouting Ireland
and give the participants of the World Jamboree the experience of a
lifetime.
