Contracts for Castle Saunderson Agreement Signed

The Chief Scout, Michael John Shinnick and the National Treasurer, Niall Walsh signed this landmark contract at the Strategy Development meeting recently
The Chief Scout addressed the meeting, which consisted of representatives from all the National Teams in Willington Scout Den, Dublin about the latest developments on the Castle Saunderson initiative.
The Chief Scout briefed the meeting on the Funding of over €3. million that Scouting Ireland had secured from SEUPB and an important agreement with Coillte for rights of way that has recently been signed.
He also pointed out that the signing of this agreement with Cavan County Council was a momentous step towards the proposed launch of Castle Saunderson campsite in September 2010.
The Chief Scout then called on the National Treasurer, Niall Walsh to join him in signing the contract on behalf of the Association.
With the signing of the contract completed the Chief went on to acknowledge and thank the former Chief Scouts and their teams that had driven the process forward to this point. He also notably thanked the Coillte Teoranta, Jimmy Cunningham, North Eastern Provincial Commissioner, Seamus O’Reilly, County Commissioner of Cavan Monagahan Scout County and Jack Keyes, Manager of Cavan County Council for their tireless work on behalf of the project.
The Chief finally called on all present at the Strategy meeting to “stop searching and start finding” and passed over to the two Chief Commissioners to start the days proceedings.
