Castle Saunderson Project – Update

Scouting Ireland is pleased to report that another milestone in the progression of the Castle Saunderson Project has been reached....

At the end of January the Independent Assessment Panel concluded the dialogue stage of the Competitive Dialogue Tendering Process w is being used to select the design and construction team for the project.

The Independent Assessment Panel discussed with each of the 3 construction companies, who have expressed an interest in bidding for the project, their designs and construction proposals for the campsite. The Independent Assessment Panel were satisfied that each company had sufficient information to enable them to submit a formal tender bid, and the dialogue stage was concluded.

Tender documents have now been drafted and are being issued to each company. Those wishing to tender will have 8 weeks to submit their bids. The bids when received will be assessed immediately by the Independent Panel who will apply the award criteria, after which a recommendation will be made to the Steering Group of the Castle Saunderson Project.

It is anticipated that once the bidder has been selected the successful design will be submitted for planning permission. All things being equal it is anticipated that construction will commence in July.
